 WEATHER SYSTEM AND EXPECTED RESULT 

Fairly moist easterly air mass is expected to influence weather over Malawi. Expect warm and partly cloudy conditions during the day. Very cold conditions will persist tonight and during early morning.

 

SHIRE VALLEY:

(Areas along Shire river, Lakes Chilwa and Chiuta Valleys).

 

Cool and partly cloudy during morning. Warm and partly cloudy in the afternoon.

Forecast Temperatures: Ngabu Min. 17oC and Max.29oC

SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS:

(Shire highlands, Kirk Range up to Dedza)

Very cold and partly cloudy with fog patches during early morning. Warm and mostly sunny in the afternoon.

Forecast Temperatures: Blantyre Min. 10oC and Max.21oC

CENTRAL AREAS: 

(Lilongwe, Mchinji, Dowa, Ntchisi, Kasungu and part of Mzimba District)

Very cold and partly cloudy with fog patches during early morning. Warm and mostly sunny in the afternoon.

Forecast Temperatures: Lilongwe Min 09oC and Max. 26oC

LAKESHORE AREAS:

(Areas along Lake Malawi; Salima, Nkhotakota, Nkhata Bay, Karonga, Mangochi )

Cool and partly cloudy during morning. Warm and partly cloudy in the afternoon.

Forecast Temperatures: Mangochi Min. 17oC and Max.28oC

NORTHERN AREAS: (All areas north of Mzimba)

Very cold and partly cloudy during morning. Mild and partly cloudy in the afternoon.

Forecast Temperatures: Mzuzu Min. 09oC and Max. 23oC

WINDS IN MOST AREAS:

Generally  easterly.
