WEATHER SYSTEMS AND EXPECTED RESULTS:.

 

A low-pressure system over Malawi is creating unstable weather conditions. Therefore, it will be hot over most areas with isolated thunderstorms. However, mild conditions will continue at night and during morning hours.

SHIRE VALLEY: (Areas along Shire river, Lakes Chilwa and Chiuta Valleys)

Warm to hot in the morning. Partly cloudy with chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Forecast Temperatures: Ngabu Min. 25oC and Max.38oC 

SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS:

(Shire highlands, Kirk Range up to Dedza)

Warm  in the morning. Hot and partly cloudy  with isolated thunderstorms.

Forecast Temperatures: Blantyre Min 22oC and Max. 34oC 

CENTRAL AREAS: (Lilongwe, Mchinji, Dowa, Ntchisi, Kasungu and part of Mzimba District)

Cool in the morning. Hot  conditions during the afternoon.

Forecast Temperatures: Lilongwe Min 20oC and Max. 31oC

LAKESHORE AREAS: (Areas along Lake Malawi)

Warm  in the morning. Hot to very hot  and partly cloudy in the afternoon.

Forecast Temperatures: Mangochi Min. 25oC and Max.36oC

NORTHERN AREAS: (All areas north of Mzimba)

Cool in the morning. A chance of rain showers later in the day.

Forecast Temperatures: Mzuzu Min. 15oC and Max. 28oC

WINDS IN MOST AREAS:

Winds: North easterly.
